Update: Life at the Grey Havens and All Things SDG
[a brief note about this space, ‘Conclave,’ racism, ‘Crisis of Meaning,’ quick wins, and my life]
Back in mid-August, just before pulling the trigger on paid subscriptions here at All Things SDG, I warned that—with university and high-school teaching duties starting in September—I would be writing less. In spite of that, I’ve tried to keep writing as much as possible! Mostly because I love writing, but also because I want to do as much as I can to give the noble minority of paying subscribers their money’s worth (and hopefully to encourage other readers to join their ranks).
Within the last couple of weeks, though, it’s all been catching up with me. Teaching is going fine, but I’m behind on grading, and I haven’t been able to follow up as quickly as I hoped on the first installment on my exploration of racism. Never mind my long-dormant series on meaning and nihilism in superhero multiverse movies! And now there’s this Conclave movie to write about!
I do plan to get to all of it, I promise! Conclave first, hopefully. I had hoped to write another “Crisis of Meaning” piece in August for the Deadpool & Wolverine movie, but that never happened. And I don’t know when the second piece on racism will be ready. But writing is already underway on all of these, and all of it will see the light of day, I promise.
Along the way, I am going to look for some quick wins: fun, brief pieces that I can post without too much time or effort, and without delaying too much my other writing goals as well as (ahem) my grading responsibilities.
Keep watching this space, and thanks for reading!
