We watch the movie every year toward the end of October! My daughters who have read it are also big fans of the book. I haven’t read it, but I will one of these days!
My then-8 year old gave me a twenty dollar bill painstakingly drawn in blue ink on copy paper, and tried to convince me to give him a real twenty. He then tried to settle for a one.
Yes, very well done. Regarding the picture of your first footnote, please tell me that you intentionally wore that shirt for the occasion. That movie fits so well for the aesthetic of Coraline that I would be shocked if it wasn't a major influence on director Henry Selick (not to mention Tim Burton).
Not only was there a Laika exhibit at the Seattle Museum of Pop Culture during my one and only visit to Seattle, Christopher, I also saw many other horror movie accouterments and even posed in a coffin—NONE OF WHICH I KNEW I WOULD BE DOING when I put on that T-shirt!
Your work is amazing for a whiteboard drawing! And, of course, Suzanne’s cakes are always amazing!
Thank you! And yes re. Suz’s cakes!
Amazing work! Especially love the Bombadil 20. Makes me want to revisit Coraline—both the movie and book.

So cool!
Thank you! More to come!
"Halfway through this design might be the first time that Suzanne said to me, 'You’re going crazy with this—it’s going to take you forever.'"

I believe I also engaged in this youthful artistic challenge, Janalyn!
Ba ha ha
A reasonable compromise!

So, can anyone name the movie on SDG's shirt? 🙂

Nosferatu!
We have a winner! 😁
