May I add an eleventh factor (since I agree with pretty much everything you've said)? The score! Up until Doctor Strange, Marvel movies had been supported by bland, unimaginative, predictable, and — most noticeably — forgettable music. I just like that it’s a story about a guy whose power comes from reading old books!

I also like Multiverse of Madness because it takes some of what you identified about Dr. Strange to the next level.
